This is an example of a private synagogue, built by Lazar PolyakovThe synagogue was built as a private synagogue by Lazar Polyakov, a banker and Jewish social activist. After 1937, it served as a trade union meeting hall for many years, but in 2004, after a complete renovation, it reopened its doors as a functioning Orthodox Synagogue with simple but pleasant interior design, several classrooms, bookshop and restaurant of Kosher cuisine.
