Each year the period from the end of April and till beginning of October is considered to be a high tourist season in Russia, especially in its two capitals: Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

This means that the most important tourist spots are full of travelers eager to see the gems of Russian heritage.  Such museums like Moscow Kremlin, or Great Palace in Peterhof and Catherine Palace in Pushkin face huge lines daily and it may take up to several hours to buy a ticket and enter a museum.

To avoid long queuing and not to lose precious time you can book tickets to some museums online beforehand.
